Mastering stainless steel castings


The stainless steel foundry and high manganese alloys has consolidates and celebrated experience in the production of different types of mining & hydropower components , crusher parts as well as other components for mining industry . BULPROCAST collaborates with numerous sectors including mining , hydropower , cement , naval and valve industry as our main sector. It produces castings in complex stainless steels , high manganese alloys , duplex ,super-duplex steels and nickel-base alloys.


BULPROCAST supplies raw , rough machined and finish machined castings, thanks to the company´s collaboration with certified machine shops.

The foundry carries out NDT (non -destructive tests) in accordance with order specifiations and castings are then supplied with all necessary certification.


Stainless Steel & High Manganese Alloys castings are usually supplied in small and medum-sized production batches.


 


From model making to finishing 


Many years   experience and expertise are important success factors to achieve optimal casting technology .


In our in-house pattern shop , the casting patterns are made and the casting technique is applied. Adjusments and repair of existing patterns are also part of the range of task. We use sand casting to create high-quality and complex stainless steel alloys.

The hand-made and compacted sand molds are situable for casting individual pieces and small series with a weight of five kilograms up to large parts with a liquid weight of up to five tons.

Usually we work with chromite sand to lay on the model and quartz sand to fill the mold. The molding boxes are filled using continous mixers , in which the sands are mixeds with resin and hardener.


 


Heat treatment technology 

Heat treatment of steel casting is a process step to control the manufacturing and material properties.The material and wall thickness of the cast part are of decisive importance for determining the process parameters,such as the heating , cooling speed , the temperature and holding time.

The heat treatment is carried out according to the physical requirements of the materials .
We mainly develop the following treatments:
  • Normalization
  • Homogenization
  • Stress relieving
  • Tempering
  • Quenching
